• Auckland Daze

Today is a good day! Every Thursday my new favourite TV programme is screened online. It is called “Auckland Daze” and it features some of NZ’s best actors and actresses playing themselves. It is seriously hilarious! And Glen Levy (the Ninja) was seriously named the 20th most deadly men on the planet! National Geographic says so – I believe it.

Watch tonight’s episode here with me – and if you have missed the other 3 episodes, watch them too :)

  • Lana Del Rey

A friend of mine sent me a link to a song by Lana Del Ray (thanks Aaron), and I have been obsessed with her ever since. I love her freedom of thought. Her uncontrived lyrics and the honesty in which she sings them has inspired me hugely into putting my poetry into melody. Poetry I thought would only be meant for me, but Lana has given me the courage to sing those secret words to the world. Perhaps these days people are more interested in the real? The Madonna material world might be over? Maybe we are walking into an new era? An era of honesty? What a crazy thought? Haha! Well I am sooooo exciting about singing what I think – maybe I should be concerned ;)

  • Inspired

So I know its been a long time since I blogged. To be honest, I have been really overwhelmed the music scene lately. I have been feeling stages of self-doubt, regret, loss and have been really depressed by it all. I have finally come out of this feeling and have to say, how beautiful and ground breaking is the music around us at the moment!? I feel inspired by the music I have been listening to. And have started to think of my first album as a building block instead of a brick wall. I have finally begun to see the world in a different light and have started to push myself, my views, and my writing. I went to Rarotonga to watch my beautiful friend Emma get married with a group of incredibly fun and loyal friends. I needed that trip so badly! I was completely myself over there - tears, sun stroke and all! By the end of the holiday I started to see the world with its endless possibilities instead of its hurdles. Thank you girls! SO much fun! Now back in Auckland life seems a little easier. Work is fun again and much more creative, and finally I have started playing with words again. Yess! The start of my writing. So a new album wont be far away!
